Progressive Reporting was founded in 1971, back in the days when interstate trucks had multiple license plates and drivers carried a “bingo card and stamps”. A lot has changed over the years, including us, we like to think we have gotten better with age. Helping trucking companies be successful is a lot of work, but we enjoy it. There is nothing better than seeing our clients grow and achieve the lifestyle they want.

We work hard to stay current with ever changing regulations and a more competitive economy. As Nation Wide Transportation Consultants with 40 years helping truckers, we’ve been there and done that. Progressive Reporting Agency has a long tradition as a family run business and over the years we have learned that putting customer’s needs ahead of profits is what truly makes us successful. The company is currently owned by the father and son team of Rich and Chris Vernon. They are dedicated to helping make sure your business is as successful as it can be.

Chris Vernon
Chris has been in the Utah National Guard for over 20 years and served as an Engineer Company Commander in Afghanistan. He is grateful for all the support he received from Progressive Reporting customers while deployed and wants to thank everyone by sharing a video his wife made that shows some of what his family experienced during the deployment. Prior to his deployment, Chris ran the day-to-day operations of Progressive Reporting and spent much of his time ensuring customers were pleased with the level of service they received.

Now Chris is focusing on growing the company and ensuring Progressive is able to provide a wide variety of valuable services to our customers. Prior to joining the company, he worked for Flying J from 2005-2009 in various capacities in the banking, finance and insurance divisions. The insurance division of Flying J was acquired by The Buckner Company, where Chris was before taking an ownership stake in Progressive Reporting Agency.

Chris attended Weber State University graduating magna cum laude in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in History. Outside of work Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, investing in real estate, and anything that involves the outdoors. He resides in North Salt Lake, Utah.

Rich received his undergraduate degree from Utah State University and holds a Master of Public Administration degree from The University of Oshkosh Wisconsin. He spent 13 years in the Army as an intelligence officer, before getting out to buy his first business. Rich has a variety of hobbies including bee keeping, falconry, biking, wakeboarding and traveling with his wonderful wife. He is a father of four and grandfather of six, hopefully with more to come.

Ariel
Ariel Hunsaker
Ariel was born in Utah and has been a long-time resident of Salt Lake. Ariel attended college locally and studied business management. Her career started in the hospitality industry where she was the Suites and Meeting Services Manager for a sports and concert arena. She then went on to a 5-Diamond hotel as the Beverage Manager. Working in these positions meticulous customer service was ingrained in her and has carried with her to the transportation industry. She helped set up the new Ground Transportation Department for Salt Lake City and the Salt Lake City International Airport as the city ordinance went through a huge overhaul. Working for the city, she was responsible for making sure that all taxis, shuttles, limos, and passenger vehicles met city ordinances, along with helping to develop office policies and procedures.

With her transportation experience, love of working with people and providing excellent customer service, being an Agent at Progressive Reporting Agency (PRA) Ariel has found a perfect fit. Her main role with PRA includes: setting up new Utah and out-of-state IRP and IFTA accounts, consulting on fleet management, registering vehicles, filing monthly, quarterly, and annual taxes, obtaining various state-required permits, title work and various other tasks. She values building professional and personal relationships with PRA clients and enjoys being able to help take the stress out of being DOT compliant.

In her free time, Ariel’s focus and joy comes from her three daughters, who are the lights of her life. She has been involved in youth hockey for the past six years where she has enjoyed volunteering and sitting on the Board of Directors for Davis County Youth Hockey. She’s a huge Brooklyn Nets fan and if she was to ever move out of Utah it would be to Miami (even though her heart belongs to NY). On any given evening you might catch her at a local show or concert and when she is able, she likes to travel to other states to watch her favorite artists’ concerts. She’s a proud (and somewhat new) collector of sneakers; Nike’s and Jordan’s, though you won’t see her wear them often.

Very professional and trustworthy company. They have helped our business since the very beginning, getting our permits and authority and staying compliant. Ariel and Mercedes also helped us prepare for audits and even helped getting us back into satisfactory status. Overall a great experience.

- Jessica Leon

Brandon was excellent in his knowledge and explanation of what would be required for my needs. I highly recommend using Progressive for all of your DOT compliance needs.

- Cory Clement

I absolutely love the people I work with in Midvale! They have been extremely helpful and pleasant and never make you feel stupid for all the many questions that come up from starting a new trucking company. They are all knowledgeable and lead you through the steps to keep you compliant with all the DOT, IRS and IFTA regulations. Thanks Tyler, Jaclyn, Liz, Tina and Haley!

- Ruth Christensen

My life is simpler because of Progressive Reporting Agency. They are experts at what they do so I don’t have to be.  Their entire organization is efficient, professional and a joy to work with.  I can’t imagine trying to run my business without them.

- Tyler P. – Vernal, UT

Working with Progressive for over the last 10 years has been great for our business. We are able to call and get a live person who is an expert in the area where we need assistance. That has helped us make good business decisions. The service is prompt and they are usually able to get complicated things handled quickly.

- Kathy – Las Vegas, NV

We want to say thank you for all the help you have given us over the last 8 years. You have helped us with our licensing, registration and permitting, which are complicated tasks we don’t have the time to dedicate to. Taking those tasks off our plate has allowed us to focus on growth, which is one of the reasons we have been able to grow from 1 truck to over 50 in less than 8 years.

- Corey W. – North Salt Lake, UT

We had an issue with our US DOT number that we tried to fix ourselves. After weeks of frustration and getting nowhere, we made one call to Progressive Reporting and the problem was solved within 2 hours. Now we have Progressive Reporting’s contact info in all of our trucks.
